Building our 1:12 Scale Farmer Stall

Posted by Jared Waters on

Our 1:12 scale Farmer Stall is as fun to build as it is adorable. Here is a quick run down on assembly and some tips for finishing this model.

We recommend dry fitting the model together before gluing. There are seven pieces.

There are two pieces without finger joints. The piece with a gap in the joints is the bottom and should be set down with the gap facing left. The piece with the door is the left side wall and should be inserted into that hole. The piece with the large window hole is the front, while the side piece without the door is the right wall. The back wall is the piece pictured on top in the above photo. The roof has finger joints on all sides and fits snugly on top. The bar slides into place on the window.

To give the stall some variety, we used a ruler and marker to draw parallel lines on the the floor and bar pieces. Then we drew simple squiggles and "V"'s, which, when stained over creates a convincing wood plank look.

We then painted the walls of the stand with a homey Robin Egg Blue.

After your paint or stain dries, glue your model into place.

To complete the build, we think our metal roofing really brings it together, but any of our roofing options will work. Four roofing pieces cover it perfectly.

We embellished it with some custom signs, a 2x6 stained for some trim, and crates of fresh veggies. We hope you enjoy building it as much as we did!
